Our Story
We are so excited to launch Radiance East Bay this Fall! After a year of prayer and seeking God’s will, the leadership at Radiance felt called to start a new ministry in Berkeley. We will continue to carry on the original vision and mission that God gave our church when we first started in San Francisco 13 years ago: to advance the gospel of Christ from the city to the world. Our hope and prayer is that God will move powerfully and transform the lives of many as we advance the gospel into the East Bay.

Mark & Mira Chun
LEAD PASTOR
Mark grew up in the East Bay but left to go to UC San Diego for college. There, he met his beautiful wife, Mira. After receiving his call into ministry, he gave up the pursuit of dental school but continued to work bi-vocationally as a research chemist in the biotech industry. He eventually enrolled at Talbot Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity. Mark started Kairos Church in 2006 and served as the founding pastor for 5 years until sensing a call to return back to the Bay Area to start Radiance. In his free time, he loves to play golf and surf, go hiking, as well as spend quality time with family. He is a die-hard Bay Area sports fan and roots faithfully for the Niners, Giants, and Warriors!

Jeff Chiu
PASTORAL INTERN
Jeff grew up in Taiwan as an atheist, and lived with the mantra of working hard and playing harder. In His timing and out of His grace, Jeff came to know God through 1-on-1 Bible Study with a friend, became convicted of his sins, and surrendered his life to Jesus. Jeff has experience ministering to college students and young adults as a lay staff over the last decade in Berkeley. He is excited to join staff at Radiance East Bay to equip the saints for the work of ministry. He currently works bi-vocationally as an ED Physician, and is pursuing a M.Div at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. In his free time, he enjoys sports, music, working out, coffee, and cooking healthy meals.
Parking
Street parking is available on the surrounding streets, free on Sundays. Paid parking is also available nearby at the Telegraph Channing Garage.
